Aminex's PBT Therapy promises to provide long-lived, robust effects. Cancer has touched everyone’s life. Standard therapy for this disease involves attempts at burning, bleeding or poisoning the tumors selectively while leaving normal tissues unaffected. While it is known that in many cases, the primary tumors can be effectively eliminated, it is the secondary or reoccurrence of metastatic tumors to distant places in the body that ultimately are the real killers. By unleashing the specificity of the immune system against the tumor, we at Aminex Therapeutics believe we have discovered a better way to treat cancer.

It has been known for more than 50 years that tumors have a higher concentration of the cellular metabolites known as the polyamines. Using the specificity of Aminex’s PBT (Polyamine-Based Therapy) approach, the levels of these metabolites are reduced to levels similar to those in normal tissues. While exploring the effect of its PBT approach in animal models, Aminex scientists made the profound discovery that an immune reaction against the tumor was initiated, resulting in the complete disappearance of established tumors in these animals. Equally critical was the observation that when PBT therapy was stopped; the tumors did not re-grow. With a small-molecule based immunotherapy approach that promises to also be effective against metastases, we believe that PBT therapy has the potential for a permanent cure.

Aminex Therapeutics, Inc. is developing its PBT™ small molecule cancer treatment based on its technology protected by 6 issued US patents and their foreign counterparts. This breakthrough therapeutic approach triggers a discriminating immune system response that can target tumors without affecting normal tissues. In the results so far, it has demonstrated a high level of efficacy in mice and domestic cats. Upon successful completion of the trials, we will target the $46 billion cancer chemotherapeutics market. Just as importantly, we seek to find cures for specific cancers for which there are no remedies and patients have very sub-optimal treatment choices.  The Company has completed its initial R&D phase and is looking to raise capital to complete Phase I/II human trials.

Competitive advantages include:
  • First-in-class anticancer agents based on 6 issued US Patents

  • Animal proof-of-concept in mice and in spontaneous tumors in house cats

  • Unique mechanism of action that promises to re-frame the oncology product market

  • Preclinical work supported by National Cancer Institute RAID grant

  • Extraordinary opportunity to quickly advance an advanced pre-clinical approach to the benefit of cancer patients worldwide
